Your client wants a "Rubbish" Design!

Well I think as graphic designers that something we
face quite often. I will always try to persuade the
client away from their personal (this often times
have to do with their ego and to boast that they had
something to do with the design project) idea,
sometimes I will do what they want but also present
my preferred alternative. Sometimes they will go for
your idea but in the end its them that is paying the
bill so you have to just shut your teeth, do what
they want, collect your money for
your time and move on. You can always keep the
good options for your portfolio, and
trash the final approval of their choice.
That’s what I do most time anyway.
You sometimes will have nightmares when you go for a briefing with a client and they have been using MSWord, Powerpoint, Publisher and cutting up photographs to show you what they want. Sometimes this helps, but most times this is an indication that you are in for a treat!
Remember... they are paying the bill, just do the work and collect what is due to you.
